Between their partnership with Selecta for a T1D vaccine as referenced below and their partnership with Smartcells on “Smart Insulin”, the JDRF is coming at the issue of T1D from many angles. These developments are still years away (although Smart Insulin is expected to go to human trials soon), for us parents, it is comforting to know that technology is in the works that will likely alter the way our children will deal with T1D as adults.
